If you have nickel allergies, avoid sterling silver.
Sterling silver contains nickel. When you see the 925 stamp (that's your indicator that it's "sterling") it means that it's 925 parts out of 1000 (or simply, 92.5%) silver. The remaining 7.5% is generally copper, nickel, zinc etc.

You've already figured out the benefits of Ti, and you can get a wide variety of earrings that have Ti posts and french hooks, etc. You might have to do a little digging, as you won't find these in your typical Claire's or mall kiosk. However, you can find small plastic sleeves to slide over your posts...the trouble with these is that it requires a bigger hole to accomodate the added thickness...if your lobe only fits the post, and snugly, these won't fit well.
The clear nail polish idea works, but as mentioned, it wears off quickly...there's the separate possibility of having a reaction to the polish itself.

I had the self same problem.
I went to a tattoo studio and bought plastic bars with an 18ct bar on the end.
They were £20 each but i think that was because of the ball.
I would definitely try a good tattooist.

If i were you i would just splurge and buy sterling silver earrings...they are definitely worth the money and they wont irritate your ears!!! But you could also probably find plastic earrings in a shop like Claires!!

I only wear sterling silver, hypo-allergenic or gold earrings. You can ask the store clerks if they could get what you want or they might even be able to tell you where to get them.

If you are allergic to nickle, try painting with clear nail varnish - it really works! But you need to do this regularly as it can peel off

I'm allergic to nickle also, but i always buy surgical steel,or "hypo-allergenic" earrings. Those always work well and they offer a great variety.

I use either 24 ct gold or sterling silver on my daughter who has a nickle allergy. They are fine on her.
