I know the feeling of freedom and the tremendous advantages of having a license”, as said by a teen on Yahoo Answers, “as I am a teenage driver. However, it is impossible to ignore the nearly 4,000 young drivers killed and 300,000 injured every year. This number might even increase, as the population trends show that in 2010 there will be 23 percent more teenagers than there are today. Some people who see these statistics believe that age alone is the reason for these trends, and that 16-year-olds should not be allowed on the road. I disagree. I do not believe that the age requirement for a license should be changed, and I do not think that it will for a long time, no matter what the statistics show.Hope this helps you...good luck..

It's not the driving age that needs to be changed. We know that 16 year old boys are really at high risk for accidents. The insurance companies make us pay for that. We should take this idea and add some steps to make sure that 16 year olds are safer drivers. Safer drivers develop thru knowledge and experience and safer environments in which to drive.
* Don't buy your 16 yo a brand new SUV that just invites them to show off and speed. In each and every high school in the country there is at least one major accident that claims the lives of students being driven by other students.
* The amount of wheel time required to get a license at 16 is generally just too little. If the state can't make laws that increase this time, then the parents should make sure that their child has huge amounts of time with a professional driver to learn and gain the critical experience.
* Penalize driving to school. Stop providing parking spaces. Provide adequate bus service so that students don't need to drive in order to do extra curricular activities.
* Seriously address alcohol / drugs with the kids. Penalize severely if your child smells like alcohol or marijuana.
* Make driving an adult step. Make your child earn the money to pay the insurance and for their own gas. This is an adult privilege -- treat it like an adult expense.

suitable right that is an argument for you.they say reason they get into deadly wrecks is using the very actuality they're eco-friendly, acceptable. So no keep in mind what age they commence they're going to though be eco-friendly, so both way there is not any longer any getting round journey without happening the line. replacing the using age also will reason more suitable responsibility on the moms and dads. Many toddlers start up section time jobs at 16 or do an afterschool interest, that receives a load off there shoulder in the journey that they dont might want to favor to be demanding about who will %. them up or take them. I also do believe they regulation might want to favor to get replaced on senior drivers. Agian i do now no longer imagine of they could favor to be banned from using, they do though have lives, yet they could favor to take a manitory drivers attempt at a diverse age. i have were given self assurance that sluggish drivers creates more suitable complications then the swifter ones. you'll favor to modify lanes to maintain away from, it causes heavy congestion, and it in elementary words transformations the bypass of website visitors.

The age limit for a person eligible for driving should be up to 18. This age is comprehensible. Not only this, but further laws should be imposed like:
1. The person cannot buy a vehicle without having a drivers lisence.
2. The person must have passed from a recognized driving school or a recognized vehicle driving institute.
3. No one else except the person who has bought the vehicle will be allowed to drive the vehicle.
4. Any person while driving any vehicle injuring pedestrians, whether accidently or intentionally should be jailed for 50 years without any consideration at all. Completely Non-bailable warrant.
5. The person/the criminal will not be allowed to drive anymore vehicle further-more.

Yes, it should be changed to driving only with an adult until you are 18...like a permit driver. I wish it was reasonable to ask that the driving age could be changed to 21.

Yes, people should be forced to take driving tests every year after the age of 65. Older drivers are just as, if not more, dangerous as new, young drivers.

My 15 year old son started drivers training this week and I can't help but think he lacks the maturity and judgement needed to be a safe driver. I see his lack of maturity day in and day out in everything else he does!
Funny how my attitude has changed so much from when I was 15!

I think the driving age to start driving is fine but as people age, I think they should have to resubmit to a driving test. Maybe starting at 70.
