Nick Cave has been around for decades, originally from Australia he formed a punk band "The Boys Next Door". After a few years of getting nowhere they moved to London, made a few line-up changes and emerged as "The Birthday Party", releasing a number of albums to great critical acclaim but achieving only cult popularity. After the break up of The Birthday Party, Nick Cave went on to form The Bad Seeds and has released many albums - all superb. He has written novels, film scores, done some acting and even collaborated with Kylie Minogue on his Murder Ballads project. It is impossible to say which is my favourite track or album, I think you'll enjoy discovering this for yourself. Contact Mute Records in the UK for further and more particular information, hopefully they have a website. Good luck and gain the experience.

My favorite recording artist. So yes, I am familiar with him.

Favorite Record: Tender Prey
Favorite Song: Cabin Fever (from the record From Her To Eternity)

Someone else wrote Red Right Hand. That's alright, but by then he had been swallowed up by corporate hacks. His first four records are the best, IMO. His last two or three have been utter junk. Avoid Nocturama like the plague. If you're interested in finding out about him, I'd start with Tender Prey or Henry's Dream. Then jump around.

Also, if you're really serious, you *must* check out The Birthday Party. His band before NC & TBS. Essential music by an essential band.

Dreadful junkie miserablist. I don't think he has ever done an even half way happy song or poem in his entire life, All his songs are about slow death and emotional torment. He has just released a film with Ray Winstone, a "western" set in the Aussie outback, and true to form it is full of violence, anger, evil and raw emotion. I have heard his next film will be a comedy, I assume it will be a laff a minute opus about Global Thermonuclear War with babies being boiled alive by radiation. Ooooh, we did laugh.

Yes, very much indeed, and my best tracks are "Red Right Hand", "Do You Love Me", "Henry Lee"(vocals by PJ Harvey) and "The Weeping Song". Absolute Wizard class.
