I just got rid of one printer. After I "ADD HARDWARE" for the new printer I don't want an unnecessary option to show up when I print materials

There is another way to do it to completely erase all of its program drivers and also gets rid of the printer icon:

Go to start -> Control Panel
Go to "Add or Remove Programs".
Look for the printer and then click on it. Click on change or remove and follow the process.

You will be all set!

Go into the control panel
Click on the Printers and Faxes icon
You should see the old printer listed
Right click on the printer and select "delete"
Bye-bye
