They are free to wear what they want, but where they need to be identified by an official authority, the veil must be removed.

just a passing thought they should not drive face coved up that restricts the view I know it would me. Surely not legal to drive like that ..The vale was worn before the on set of the car Would Insurance cover you wearing a vale whilst driving I don't think so. Could a bus driver wear one could a surgeon wear one lots of occupations they would prove disadvantaged to carry out certain occupations .or are they exempt from health and safety regulations ECT

I'd really hate it if I was being treated by a doctor or someone like that and I couldn't see their face. Face to face contact is necessary for reassurance and effective communication - especially in the case of a doctor treating a sick person for example. If I was in that situation I'd either ask her to remove her veil or demand another doctor!!!
Its not as though you're asking them to show their breasts or genitals is it?
I mean for heaven's sake what is "immodest" about showing your face??? I don't get it.

Not bothered either way. If they want to wear the equivalent of a bag over their head; fine.
If they want to seperate themselves; fine.
If they want to riot because of any so called comment about their Religion; fine.
If they want to rant about Christianity; fine.
If they want to alienate themselves from the rest of the Human Race, be mis-understood and generally reviled because of their actions; fine.
If they realy want to force others to hate and detest them; fine.
If they want to waste this life worrying about the next; fine.
Again I'm not bothered.

Nothing, it doesn't matter as it's part of their religion. I think the idea behind is it so the men can't see the whole face which makes them more attractive!

Its a very insulting sign of obedience
If its a cultural thing, it shows the middle east culture is still very repressive to women
It shows how chauvinistic the islamic view really is

you can dress as you wish but some people might find it hard to connect if you can't see their face. it's not compulsory to cover their face but some do. still for passport pictures they have to see your face for safety reasons and identification so you just have to do as the law says.

i always think "dang, lady, aren't you hot up under there?" , "what happens if you have to sneeze?", "if your breath is bad, can you smell it all day ?", "do you stick your tongue out at people you don't like or chew with your mouth open just because we can't see it?"
you know...the usual
