Not really. Although I think the chance is small of them seeing your metatags, there could be all sorts of legal problems. For example, you couldn't use "McDonalds" in an ad to describe your new hamburger place. Since meta tags help influence where your site places on searches, this could be looked at as misleading customers. A lot of this is just "worst case scenrio," but do you really want the potetnial headahce?

The courts can rule that it constitutes passing-off or infringement of trade mark, but not always. The question is, is it worth risking a law suit from a mega-corp?

Nope, though the laws are fuzy, you can get attacked for copyright infringement. I have had company legal departments contact me in the past about the same issue.

No, that's cheating...if you are caught, you will be removed from that search engine. I think BMW Germany just got caught doing that not long ago.
