It takes a long time I'm afraid.(no pun intended) Have the lights on where ever you go, and hum a tune or think of something funny to get your mind off the scary thoughts. Just believe that you'll be okay and think that there is no such thing as the scary thing and you'll be okay. I still get freaked out by things that remind me of the Exorcist, and I saw that movie many years ago! I just learn to put it out of my mind but sometimes it creeps back in!

I saw that movie in the theater when it first came out. It freaked me out too. I kept thinking of that part where she is under the covers. It took me a few days to get over it. Since then I saw the movie again at a friends house and it didn't even seem scary to me. Another freaky movie is House of a Thousand Corpses,it's that Rob Zombie movie. There is this movie that was made in the 70's called Don't Be Afraid of the Dark, this movie scares the heck out of me. You want a scary movie to watch for Halloween, get it. You can only get in on line though.

Movies don't bother me. Except for SAW. I haven't watched the grudge. Try hanging with friends and talk about what bothering you. Me and my friend decided to look for the meaning of the story and try not to do that. Then you know it can't happen to you.

I love scary movies, but I've never needed to get over them. I
know they're only movies & I leave it at that.(entertainment) No
movie has ever stuck with me nor had that kind of effect on me.
But I suppose if 1 were to screw with my head I'd re-watch it to
absorb it fully & digest it better. Then I'd dismiss it.

oh i know that feeling which is why you won't catch me watching a movie like that.
anyways what i would do is find something funny to watch and then when you're about to go to bed get a pet (cat or dog) and just get under the blanket and have you're pet sleep next to you
that should do something
good luck

you dont have anythnig to be scared of, this was a movie and not real. But if you are still scared the best way to get over it is to get up and walk around your room and check it, it is going to take alot of will power to get up and walk around but you can do it! Good luck to ya

Oh I really hate that. Just realize that she will not be there and you'll live. Just relax, keep the lights on, and watch a chick flick.
