coming from a guy whos shy, trust me, mentally kick yourself in the *** and push yourself to do something. its one of the hardest things for us to do, but just be confident in yourself, and make sure your self esteem is pretty high, but not cocky. if you can do this, the rewards will be so sweet it will be that much easier to push yourself to do something next time.
