These terms refer to the books of the Old Testament. The first five books of the Bible are known as the Pentateuch, also called The Torah, which means law. The remaineder of the Old Testament, with the exceptions of Job, Psalms, Proverbs, Ecclesiastics, Song of Solomon (or Song of Songs), Wisdom and Sirach, are called the Prophets (or prophetic books). If you are Catholic, the books of Tobit, Judith, 1 and 2 Maccabees, Wisdom, Sirach, and Buruch are considered Deuterocanonicals(meaning second cannon) or Apocrypha (hidden). The Torah is considered to be Law, because it contains directions from God to the Hebrews regarding how they were to live and arrange their affairs. All other writings are considered to be separate commentary or history. At different times in history, the Bible has been translated and rearranged, with some books being included and others excluded. So there are different listings for the prophetic books, depending on which version of the Bible you are using, and if it is a Catholic or Protestant version. The books of the Torah remain the same, and have not changed.

The laws would be the first 5 books, especially Leviticus. The prophets are the first few books in the NT: Matthew, Mark, Luke and John.
