You have several options:
The F.M. transmitter that plugs into the ipod and transmits a signal to your Radio is probably the cheapest option but the sound you will get is really bad.
You can also buy a CD Player with an Aux Input on the front.
But the best option would be something like what you can buy at http://www.mp3yourcar.com/ , this is what I have in my car, it connects to the Disc Changer connector of your CD player, either the one that came with your car ar the new one you are going to buy. Just make sure that if you are buying a new stereo it is compatible with the adapter. They have a list of all compatible units. You can even skip tracks using the controls in the stereo or use the ipod to find artists, play-lists, etc... And the sound is just like listening to CDs

Sony has come out with new cd players with the aux plug in, so not only can you connect your I-pod you can also use your speakers for surround sound for a portable dvd player!

You need to buy an i-trip which sends an FM signal which your car radio antenna picks up and plays through the radio. This technology has just actually been made legal in the UK so you should be able to pick one up online somewhere.

You can buy a gadget (forget the name but someone will tell you)
on the internet that allows you to tune your ipod into the spare FM channels on your car radio.
