Doesn't anyone read the whole question? I am not face to face with this person so quit telling me to look into their eyes! geez!

Ask follow up questions. Try to trip them up. Change the subject, then go back to it and see if you get the same response. People that lie often try to over convince you, or over react if they think you are not believing them. As far as going face to face with someone, eye contact is key. But also as important is other body language such as touching the face, playing with their hair, fidgeting around, adjusting their wardrobe, etc. In general, you can never really be positive if someone is lying to you, especially if they are good at it. You need to be able to trust that person. If you don't , then I would always assume they are lying till I was convinced they weren't.

you can tell someone is telling the truth by the answers they give to your questions some people are good at giving answers but some people don't always give a genuine answer you have to trust your instincts if you think some one is not telling the truth ask them outright if you cant see this person it makes it more difficult but why would you not believe them if you think someone is trying to get your attention that again is something you have to make your own mind up about only you would know whether this person was telling the truth but most people have no reason to lie good luck
