I just started listening to contemporary christian music. Can anyone suggest good songs w/ artists name to download? Please, no sarcastic remarks!

Some of my favorite CHRISTIAN rock bands are Relient K, Switchfoot, Thousand Foot Krutch, Kutless, Family Force 5, Stellar Kart, Superchick, Audio Adrenaline, BarlowGirl, dcTalk, TobyMac, Hawk Nelson, Flyleaf, FM Static, The Fold, House of Heroes, John Reuben, Krystal Meyers, Last Tuesday, MxPx, Mute Math, Nate Sallie, POD, Pillar, Plus One, The Rocket Summer, Sanctus Real, Skilllet, Spoken, and Staple. These are some of my favorite artists. I've got lots of favorite songs as well but that list would be even longer than my list of artists!
A few of my favorites are Relient K- Getting into You, I So Hate Consequences, Be My Escape, Who I Am Hates Who I've been, Switchfoot- Meant to Live, This is Your Life, Dare You To Move, Stars, and just about anything on their Beautiful Letdown CD, Kutless- Hearts of the Innocent, Shut Me Out, Sea of Faces, Not What You See, Strong Tower, Thousand Foot Krutch- Absolute, Last Words, This is a Call, Rawkfist, Bounce, Everyone Like Me, When In Doubt, Supafly. These are just a few of my all time favs. Another good resource for christian rock music is RadioU. They play christian rock music with some hip hop, rap, hxc, and electronic thrown in. They have live streaming on the internet and if you go to their website they have a page that lists all the bands they play.

Lonestar is a really good band. They are not considered christian, they are country, but thier lirics are really good and I am sure they are christian guys. I haven't actually listened to christian music for a while, so I dont know what is hot right now except Casting Crowns I know is pretty popular. I used to like Jars of Clay, Rebecca St. James, Chris Tomlin, Micheal W. Smith, Steven Curtis Chapman, Steve Taylor, Keith Green.

I heard a great band the other day and I'm sorry I can't remember their name. It's a shame that they call themselves a Christian rock band because that limits them in terms of airplay opportunities. U2 are the best Christian rock band that doesn't call itself such. I think Coldplay are too but they might not want to be called that.

here are some of my favorite songs from my favorite contemporary bands that are christian:
anberlin - "never take friendship personal"
mae - "embers and envelopes"
dead poetic - "four wall blackmail"
emery - "the ponytail parades"
the juliana theory - "into the dark"
blindside - "sleepwalking"
mxpx - "chick magnet"
underoath - "reinventing your exit"
he is legend - "either they decorated for christmas early or they're all dead"
all of these bands have a lot of great songs so i would suggest downloading entire albums

The only good Christian band that I know if As I Lay Dying. Pretty much all their stuff is good, but they're metal, if you like that sort of thing.
