If you're a bit underhanded and perhaps a bit more concerned about getting a best answer than you should be, you could vote for yourself. I personally don't care enough to do that, but politicians do.

Getting a best answer from the asker is very unpredictable. Sometimes people vote for the most novel, or most thorough or the funniest. I'd say that if the question help you find out what the asker wants, so could tailor your answer in that way. But I pretty much just write whatever I feel like and let them be the judge.

no need for strategy. so long as you're answer satisfies the asker's query, he meets his reason... he'll surely get the nod of the asker.

however, in scenarios where the asker let the voters decide... that's surely a big comeuppance. see, respondents often pick their answer whenever it's in voting.... thus continous voting on your answer would win the point.... the question is, does it really deserve it? i mean, the distinction of being the best when in fact it was chosen thru cheating?

the real best answer are those chosen by the askers themselves...

Post a serious subject, and post it in the correct category (of the many available). You'll be happy to note that there are some of us out here who will be happy to answer the question to the best of our knowledge. Cheers!

Be as specific and concise as possible when wording your question. You only get so many words to answer with, so you should use them wisely. The more clear your question is, the easier it will be for people to answer without having to ask additional questions.

i kinda discovered that someone here goes and search for the questions with least answerers, questions which is totally un-understandable or something like that, then he replies when no one else answer with him so he win the 10 points because no one else is in the answer list. get it? but it's kinda not right in my opinion.

I hate to say it - But I think some people cheat - If I had to guess, I'd say that some people have multiple accts. and vote them- selves every time - Sorry - I hope I'm wrong.
