Great answers so far, you should do both. If you pick one, you may always regret not choosing the other. You should combine all your talents to make a niche for yourself in the job market, as not many writers can paint, and vice versa.

Incorporate both of them in your career. Example bill boards have many different colors and usually printing is involved. So this is where your thoughts can make room for your obvious gift.

Sounds like you are an Advertiser, Marketer, or Real-a-State investor. I bet you are very creative and because of that fact, I see you being successful in your own business. What can you do with this thought "Health isn't Expensive but Priceless" Dress it up with paint and you see what?

You have a vast opportunity to engulf a new thing. Please give it some thought for a while .I bet you will come up with something great.

And don't let anyone tell you why and how it won't work because if we listen to people we wouldn't ever make it in anything. The Wright brothers wouldn't have been the inventors of the airplane, if they had listened to people, Hersey went bankrupt three times but they didn't quite, Coke lost millions in the Pepsi Coke challenge but Coke regrouped and came back with their original ingredients calling it Coke a Cola Classic. (So don't change a thing) Peter Daniels lost his business 3 times but today he is a billionaire, Abraham Lincoln basicly failed at everything he attempted but because he wouldn't give up he became the 16th President. I PREDICT YOU ARE NEXT.

I encourage you to incorporate both together. please tell me what you come up with when you give this answer some thought.

Go Fight Win! You can have it both!

Just a friend

How about spending the majority of your time writing, then using the painting to relax in the evenings. You could produce some amazing art, it would just take a long time but it wouldn't matter. The writing would be the academic bit that you spent most of the day doing then you could unwind with a set amount of painting time. You win both ways then!

Be a writer first i think more people buy books than paintings, unless your a decorator painter that is.

if your are going to work or go to college with them you should start by writing, is a little easier. And if you have talent for both of them don't let the painting go to waist after you have fun with writing and then start having fun with painting. GOOD LOOK!

Couldn't you write and illustrate you books??? Or couldn't you just do both, I don't know much about painters but I don't think it a 9-5 job.....

You should always do what you enjoy the most .. painting and writing come more off the heart than the brain ... and if you enjoy both who's stopping you from doing both of them
