You really need to stop pigeonholing people and politicians into narrow stereotypes like liberal and conservative. The majority of people and politician in this country are moderates. There are even a few liberal Republicans.
I assume you are addressing Democrats with you question. There isn't any double standard. But the fact is, the Democrats are not in power at the moment. As such, what Democrats do has little effect on the nation. If the Democrats manage to gain a majority in the next elections, then their wrongdoings will be more of the public's concern.

Democrats told Jefferson to resign once he was charged with taking bribes but he didn't. I don't know if they could have forced him to resign, but they obviously didn't succeed. The difference between this and the Foley case is that Republicans left Foley in a position where he could continue to abuse children. Jefferson's not going to be offered any more bribes; he's under indictment and all is public knowledge. Democrats did not keep this case from the authorities

Your precise point is to convince others that Democrats and Republicans are equally bad, therefore why not stick with Republicans or just don't vote. I know that if I look through the questions on this board today, I will see this theme repeated over and over and over. Right?

Well of course it's accepted by the liberals, they all do it but don't get caught. Besides I'm sure they believe it's all a conservative plot to scare people into voting Republican. Washington DC home of the new Disney World ride the Goofy Roller Coaster.

Well if it's true your point is that there's corruption and stuff on both sides, then I respect you. But if you're just trying to throw another insult at the left, you're another closed-minded and biased fool. Go away.

{EDIT}

"what is this double standard crap, go watch fox news and please do not vote, you're not intelligent enough"

Hey, shut up. Everyone's allowed to vote. It's the law, get over it!

No actually its funny. The left, being immature, are trying to bring out all this news against the Republicans now, in an effort to curve the Nov elections. It's not working.

I missed the part where liberals are accepting of his behavior. Or tried to cover it up.

All politicians are crooks. Some are bigger crooks that others. Some are good in looking clean. Some are not too careful and are caught or exposed.
