I'm a single dad who doesn't sew and I'm looking for a nice handmade (or on that someone put together) costume for my 16 yoa daughter. If your selling one or know where I can get one, please let me know

Look on ebay, they seem to have everything. Some costumer companies online sell really nice things, too. Otherwise, if you're going for handmade or really nice (not those crappy ones we put on 5 year olds and that they're thrilled about), I recommend looking at a local costume store. Some formal wear places do costumes, too. Or you can hire a tailor. Can't afford one? Look and see if there are any art schools in your area with a fashion design program. Students charge less.

Hermione's been wearing jeans and a sweater in recent movies. just buy any kind of graduation robe to go over that, leave the robe unzipped, make the sweater a burgundy color and you're good to go. (she'll need a wand--not some plastic piece of crap either-- real wood, not just a twig or stick, should be shaped and finished no need for bogus looking gems...) Maybe a wool scarf with A griffin design or letter "g" embroidered on it. Add an ancient-looking book for effect, since she is supposed to be an avid reader.

Or get a fat long-haired ginger colored cat for her to carry along. Hermione's cat,Crookshanks, is featured prominently in several of the books

You can get the pattern and material from a craft/sewing store, and then you need to find a friend who knows how to sew. Working from a pattern, it wouldn't take very long.
