It is immaterial whether you believe in God or not. It is some un-identified strength which has created the universe. If you call it God, just think and then answer. He has created the wonderful world and decorated it with flowers, mountains, rivers, lakes and what not. When we pluck the flowers and offer him as a token of our respect, whether he will like it? It is as simple to understand that when you decorate your own house, clean it, put nice flower-pots, decorate it with curtains, nice paintings etc. and somebody disturbs all the settings, removes the flower-pots, throws away the paintings, pull the curtains with the intension to please you. Whether you will be pleased or you will be disturbed to see the scenario? So, whether you believe in God or not, I feel it is wrong to disturb the natures balance and beauty. Performing your own duties with proper attention and peaceful prayer will please the God, not by offering tonnes of flowers to him. Wish to see views from all readers.

ONLY god knows what pleases him, the rest of us guess and try to do things we think that would please him because we love him.
every buy your mother/someone special a gift you put a lot of thought and love into and then she did not think it was as great as you did, it happens but i think god knows the thoughts and intentions behind it..much like your mother or someone special.
God expects that we will get it wrong, he created us imperfect and I believe he just wants us to try in life...its the effort that's good enough.
I also think if god did not want us to pick and enjoy the simple beauty of a flower than he would not make them grow back!
I do agree with you that we all should respect nature and this beautiful world we have and more than not it seems like we are destroying it with pollution, killing unnecessarily, etc..but a flower as a gesture of love and beauty is a different story!

Have you seriously contemplated as to what would happen if nobody plucked any flower at all?
Would the garden look as beautiful? Have you not seen somebody pluck the flowers in his own personal garden? He does not pluck them all - he has some criteria for which ones to be plucked and which ones to be let be for future plucking. And undoubtedly he knows how to make sure that his own garden must always look beautiful with those flower plants and trees perfectly loaded with colourful flowers as they ought to be.
However, you are absolutely right that what we must offer to God relates to the deeds we do, not the candles we light nor the flowers we give or decorate Him with. It is our deeds which are the real offering to God based on which alone our future can be decided.

YOU are ABSOLUTELY correct ! ! !
An excellent attitude, applicable , as you rightly said, to all persons, irrespective of their personal faiths !
Nature knows MUCH BETTER where a flower adorns better, and no florist, has EVER beaten nature at it !
Yet, man has been given the choice to do what he likes with materials available to him, and people need a self-assurance of their attitude of offering to a greater being, and hence choose to pluck the flowers. But once a person becomes stabilised into an everlasting peace within himself, he no more needs such act of 'offering' to convince himself or others, and would now learn to enjoy the flowers undisturbed, as nature presented it ! This happens when a person becomes pray-full(and so manifests the same in all his actions & abstensions), instead of just offering prayers once in a while !

I must appreciate ur feelings for natural beauties.
but, it depends on individual how he wants to pray and praise God.
Still, i agree with u, if u r spoiling someone's garden and then try to pray Him, He too will not be happy, as u r disappointing someone
very practically, neutrally, I think..........
if I purchase from the farm of roses & offers flowers to Him to show love & respect
then He must understand , his/her feeling is so strong for Him & he even forget to think about the Nature.
so, I fully agree with u ,
not to spoil nature's beauty,
but , there is another view point for those people ,
why they offers flowers to God.
Their love towards God makes them forget everything.

Nothing seems to survive without a commercial importance. Pl. be symphathetic to the number of flowerists and pray to god for a good fortune for them and those who recycle and creat expansion of flower offerings.

I think appreciating Gods beauty as a decoration would have His approval. He wants us to enjoy the what he has given us.

God finds beauty in everything created. If God is all powerful, loving, and forgiving then God finds beauty in everything you do. Without exception.
