Hurricane stir up the water and can create massive waves. Though they can do some damage the will never get the power a tsunami can have. Literally they are a different type of wave.

Biggest problems are drinking-water contamination and wash away roads and already damaged goods turning them in lethal objects.

It is a flood that follows a hurricane. The danger is the same as that from any other flood aggravated by the fact that it is following on from all the damage caused by the hurricane.

Hurricane Katrina and its effect on New Orleans is a recent example.

flooding after the hurricane alot of people talk about with hurricane katrina but that was because levees broke the real flooding came after hurricane rita (the lesser known hurricane) where it flooded towns because of the surge.

i think it is flooding after a hurricane caused partly by high tide.
