Where's the other side of the story?

I'm going to guess that this man did not calmly walk up and quietly state his opinion and then walk on as the article suggests. How did he "approach" the VP? Was he shouting and perhaps appeared threatening? The article doesn't even have a real quote. It says, "or words to that effect." There is a lot of room for interpretation there.

There are many people who want to hurt the President and Vice President. The Secret Service must take each and every threat seriously.

Clinton used to have people arrested for peacefully protesting hundreds of yards away - claiming that they were a security threat. This idiot in the article got within a few feet of Cheney.

I don't make snap decisions. I like to hear both sides of an argument before making up my mind. You should really try it.

If this report is comprehensive and accurate, clearly there was no grounds for an arrest, which is why the charges were dismissed. However, if someone says they have been assaulted, especially in a tight security situation like the VP, then actions must be taken to maintain a level of safety until the facts can be discovered. The VP overstepped his bounds a little by claiming to be harassed or assaulted, but I would hope that if I claimed someone harassed or assaulted me, some action would be taken.

The secret service does not care if you are criticizing the president or vice president, they only care about his safety. A acquaintance of mine has an airplane at a regional airport and he was going to the airport to work on his plane. He wasn't aware that presidential helicopter was in his hanger, he walked in, flipped on the lights, and the secret service pointed M16's at him. He didn't complain about it or file a lawsuit, he just said sorry guys and was escorted out of the building.

This crack pot probably tried to cross a line that they had established, was probably warned about it, and he did it anyway. So I don't feel bad that his butt was tossed in the slammer. Maybe that will make him think twice when doing something stupid around a world leader.

"According to the lawsuit filed at U.S. District Court in Denver, Howards and his son walked to about two-to-three feet from where Cheney was standing, and said to the vice president, "I think your policies in Iraq are reprehensible," or words to that effect, then walked on."

In other words the guy said something that the agents took as a threat and acted accordingly. If Mr. Howard didn't say anything wrong there would be a direct quote and no "or words to that effect". The guy is full of garbage and stinks as bad as this lawsuit.

This administration goes out of its way to make sure that anywhere they appear is invitation only and that there isn't any dissent in the audience. If there is they hustle them out real quickly. I have seen this several times over the past several years. Usually the Secret Service just gives them the bums rush out of the auditorium. Its one of those things that have made me very wary of this bunch. There are just too many yes-men and no one to offer an opposing opinion.

looks like a fake third party news. There is nothing like that on any of the big news station, so take your lies elsewhere, and bring in some real facts.

1. He "approached" the VP.
2. "words to that effect"

These are the two things that can make that arrest stick.

They've been doing this since they've been in office with 'free speech zones'. I thought that was the whole country but no.
