People tend to favor music that "speaks" to them personally. Either it talks about things going on in their lives or their past or talks about hopes that mirror their hopes. People who've just been dumped by a lover, for example, will spend some time listening to songs relating to that. People surrounded by violence will tend to listen to songs that either reinforce that or songs that are the opposite because that is what has meaning for them. The music someone prefers will change throughout their lives and people who like music that doesn't have a relevance in your life will seem to be people you cannot really relate to.

Country music are generally ballads of heart break and love, the things that most of us have or will experience in life.
I guess one likes it or not.
The phenomena is that CW is the biggest money maker in music.
Someone must like it.
