Are you talking about North Jersey US 9 (like north of Woodbridge/the Amboys), Central Jersey Route 9 (from about Holmdel to Forked River/Long Beach Island), or South Jersey Route 9 (LBI to Cape May Point)?

Like the previous poster said, it's a U.S. Highway running through a loooong stretch of the Garden State, and it has different characteristics in each part of the state.

Some places on 9 are better than others, It depends on why you are in the area, Going to NYC ? Going to the NJ Shore ? going to Atlantic City ?

Rt. 9 is a very vague area.... very long and goes through alot of towns. It will keep you within business districts, which will mean it's more populated with more things to do.
