Pedophiles and commercialism don't influence kids to shoot each other. The problem is we have a good amount of uneducated people in the US (I'm guessing this is US based question) who don't understand that the Constitution is a living document which is meant to evolve to fit the needs of the people. We don't need the right to bear arms anymore, the British Navy isn't going to launch a sneak attack on the east coast. When was the last time you heard on the news "Disaster was averted today when a citizen pulled out a gun and..."?
Get rid of the guns already. Oh and parents need to be active in their kids lives too. ;)

Pretty sure it's because they just don't care anymore. Haven't got even the slightest idea about consequences. People are just self serving and hedonistic now. No one values or respects other people anymore...Well, most people. I feel really bad for teenagers today...Being brought up to have no fear of any sort of reprisals. It's been about 15 years since I was in my mid teens, and I thought things were going downhill then...It's gotten way worse. I don't think we should start pushing religion in schools or anything, and I don't think we should be taking kids out behind the shed for a 'good hiding', like our Grandparents did...But I think that maybe we should really be making a conscious effort to teach them about love and mutual respect from an early an age as possible. Also, remind them that there are in fact serious consequences to every action. Maybe that would help, but maybe its too late and we are truly living through the decline of our civilisation.

Because they spend all their spare time watching tv and films of people shooting each other, then they go play computer games where they get to practice shooting.
When they find a gun they know EXACTLY what to do with it.
