His dad is in jail for life and when they (my boyfriend and his mother) argue she calls him a bastard. That is so harsh to me, I didn't know what to say when he told me...It's already sad he never got to meet his father, but your own mother constantly putting you down like that?1 It's crazy man. My boyfriend is a great person, he's in college, and is very smart, unlike other guys growing up with no father. It's gotten to the point to where he calls her names and stuff back..I think that is so bad...Man, it saddens me....He says he envies people who have loving fathers in their life, he says he knows its bad but it's what he feels... MY dad really likes him and he lets him come over and stuff, he picks him up and takes him home & everything... But I just feel really bad about him and his mother arguing and putting eack other down.

Your boyfriend should always look at the positives in his life. He is in college. He has a chance at a great future. Sounds like he has a great girlfriend! And, he does have positive male role models in his life....your dad.
It's sad that he has such a negative relationship with his mother. But, I learned early in my life...we can pick our friends, we can pick who we marry, we can even pick our nose, but, we can't pick our families.
Life gives us many lessons at all ages. It's what we learn and take with us from those lessons that matters. I had some bad experiences at 12 yrs old. I taught myself then....Don't expect anything from anybody....then you won't be disappointed.
It's sad that your bf has to feel the way he does....but it really puts a smile on my face that you are with him.....sharing your dad.
Good luck to you both!

That is so tough, and so sad. Is there a reason why your boyfriend could not go and visit his dad in jail? His mother sounds like a dead loss, and I think he would be better off without her. All I can say is love him for who he is,stick by him and support him. If he is old enough, maybe suggest to him to get a place of his own, and widen the relationship with his mother for a while, until she learns to love and appreciate him.I am a mother of 4 children and could not imagine treating any of them like that. Your children are the most precious things you will ever have.

If the young man is in college is he self supporting to where he doesn't have to depend on his mother financially he can move out. Your Dad likes him so can he rent him a room in the house or can he afford to get his own place. Maybe get a part time job at night. Nobody should have to live like that.

so what's ur question???? that's an issue that doesn't even concern u.. what u could do though is be a good listener and be supportive of ur bf that's all... don't judge his mother or make nasty comments bout her... it won't help the situation... his mom and him need to work that out w/out interference from u... the mother is just probably resentful that the father is in jail and she had to raise her son alone... it happens...

And what are they arguing about? It is just a name and some people, no matter whether they are family or just people on the street, often resort to name calling in arguments.

Best Advise. Tell her that she needs to clean her mouth once and in for all. Ask her son for a apologies and stop cursing him.
If it hurts you you should stand up for him and I know this is not right , but you at least made a difference in standing up for a helpless creature.
Good Luck

His mother has issues of her own. Tell him don't worry about her and make his self and you proud. Just keep doing what he is doing and his mother will come around have him pray and you pray with him that will make you all union even stronger.

Just think, one day, he wont have to deal with her anymore.
Some people simply shouldnt have children. Its too bad she doesnt realize that when shes calling him that, shes insulting herself more than she is insulting him.

LITTLE BASTARD
Little Bastard
All fish belly white
Wears gym trunks
And a tank top shirt
When his Grandma
Sees him playing with a knife
She says, "Put that down,
You’re gonna get hurt."
And she calls him Little Bastard
And she says it to his face
And he says, "Don’t call me Little Bastard,
Call me Snake."
