It takes the cooperation of all 3 branches to destroy the Constitution.

Current regime is trying to funnel the greatest amount of wealth into the fewest possible hands. The 400 "billionaires" featured in "Forbes" magazine own 1/3 of the entire wealth of the United States. These 400 people are as wealthy as 57 million U.S. households. This kind of wealth distribution can only lead to the conditions that will result in eventual revolution. The Constitution will become nothing more than wrapping paper for the new order as they Guatamalatize America.

No, pretty rapidly destroying the constitution.

The free speech zones and multiple arrests for peacefully protesting Bush were disturbing signs, but most people with the money for bail and lawyers and with tolerant bosses were willing to just ride this out. The violation of the 9/10 amendments which accord to the people/states all rights not enumerated is dismissed as getting tough on pot-smoking cancer patients and suicidal disabled people. The collapse of the 4th amendment was pulled off the drug warriors who preceded bush. The Supreme Court effectively ended property rights for the poor and middle class with their "eminent domain for developes, too" decision. I wonder when soldiers will start living in our houses....

Now, our president has the right to nullify habeus corpus for any enemy combatant. And he retains for himself the right to name any American citizen as an enemy combatant.

I would say the constitution has flat-lined. Will it be revived by a fair November vote count? It'll be the first time in a decade - our democracy is slipping that far into the past already.

No....
Where were your cries about the constitution when people in Waco were burning or Government Agents were breaking into Elan Gonzolez's home in Miami? Were was your outrage when the left wing of the supreme court voted for eminate domain in CT?? No, the constitution is not erroded. Rather, your political veiw is out favor & it bothers you. Thus this question. Everything done has had review by congress or the courts. You may not like it, but thems the breaks.....

The answers on to this question are amazing in their ignorance. No, the current administration is not doing anything to the constitution.

For those who say it is, name me one thing that has been violated. Go ahead, name one right that has been taken away....
....
...
I'm still waiting. You can't name any, because no rights have been taken away.

The feds can see what books you read at the library. So what? You can still read whatever books you want, nobody is stopping you from reading a book, so you haven't lost any rights.

The feds can listen if you receive a call from a known terrorist. So what? You can still make any call, or receive any call, so you haven't lost any rights.

Illegal enemy combatants don't have the right to a civil trail. So what? It only applies to people that attack us on the battlefield and don't wear a uniform. And they still have access to military courts. So what rights did you loose?

Again, what rights have you lost? NONE. You can still do anything you want, read anything you want, call anyone you want, say anything you want. Please name me one thing that you can not do anymore.....

You can't name anything, because you haven't lost any rights. You're just a bunch of whining children crying about the sky falling because the current President has an R instead of a D.

This administration is no more destroying the constitution then any prior one. Look back at history and you will see that a lot of past adminisistrations have had to bend rights for what they considered a crisis. In WWII Japanese Americans, actual American citizens, not enemy combatants were held without due process. After the civil war most basic constitutional freedoms were suspended in the south during reconstruction. During the '60's radicals or perceived radicals were under constant surveillance and wiretaps without any kind of warrant.

The perception with each generation is that no generation before has been infringed on as much as the current one. There is more freedom now, of movement, of expression, and idealism then there ever has been.

No more or less than the previous 20 administrations and the Supreme Court. If the Constitution were truly followed there would be no Social Security, no NEA, no wars on foreign soil, no foreign aid, no Department of Education. i could go on but you get the idea.

Clinton tried it by appointing Anti-Constitutional Judges by the hundreds.
Carter did the same thing.
You don't need to worry about Bush. You should already know, that he is filling hundreds of seats with judges that support the Constitution.

It is destroying the United States not just the Constitution. The money being spend aboard could be spent to help all the people who are in need in the fifty states.
