We really cannot afford to have stayed as long as we have. The country is not stabilized. Why not put them on notice to stop arguing with one another, and produce some results, tell them that our patience is not infinite?
Most Iraqis want us out. At some point, they must solve their own problems.
Or does our government intend to defy the will of it's own people and the Iraqis?
Nearly everything that the Bush Administration has denied has turned out to be true.

I followed you right up to the last sentence. Putting the Iraqi government on notice will also put the insurgents and terrorists on notice around the world i.e; you can do anything you want with impunity as long as you wait for the American people to get tired. This isn't Hollywood, there isn't going to be some dramatic climax with stirring music and a flag raising at sun rise. If we leave too soon before the elected Iraqi government can protect itself and its citizens, then all the young American men and women that have died and been injured will have been for nothing. The terrorists aren't stupid, they know it's election time in America. They know if they step up the pressure, the mayhem, the murders then they can defeat Bush by using his own citizens against him. If you want to defeat terrorism, keep voting in politicians that are willing to keep the fight going until we can be reasonably assured of our domestic safety. No more 9/11.

If Bush removes the army the terroists will come back again....i don't think anyone wants another 9-11
