I am sikck of buying self-assembly furniture which just just falls apart the second you hang more than three hangers inside it. I am looking for wardrobes that were built in the 1920s - 1960s or something, reasonably priced. You know the type, dark solid wood. Charity shops would be good too. I am based in London so the store would have to be in London or not too far from London. Cheers!

Some Council Rubbish Tips have a section where servicable furniture is made available to the public.

The one in Farnham, Surrey (about 25 miles from London Centre) is one example.

Try your local auction house. My parents go mad there, spending all of £10-20 on fantastic furniture for my sister! You can get some really good stuff, at a very reasonable price.

Auctioneers do house clearance sales.
Dont go for the christies and bonhams type, more so the local town auctioneers.
Wardrobes from that era are ALWAYS in them, £5 - £15 a piece (plus commission) !

For things like this it's best to look in the classifieds such as the admag. I'm sure there are many others possibly check out webites, like the one below, there are many london sellers on that site.

Ask your local 2nd hand dealer to keep an eye out for the type of thing you want and the price you want to pay. Then they can call you when they have it and save you the hassle of traipsing round trying to find what you want.

Check out eBay and click on the nearest first tab so you will know how far the furniture is away from you.
