When I was young people that said, bloody, bugger and christ almighty, were considered as really bad people. I heard my father say Bloody to another person and my face went red with shame. In films or even in books the word bloody was changed to ruddy to save the blushes.
As time has gone by those words are not even considered as swearing. The word bastard crept in to take their place and then the latest crop of Anglo Saxon words are now the swear words. 2 years ago if I heard the f word on TV I felt embarrassed, even when alone. Now it passes over me and is no problem to me. However I do not use the modern swear words as they sound so cheap.
What you must realise is that it isn't initially Yahoo that is responsible for the violation penalties. They are initialised by the questioners. They may be older people, religious people or just awkward people.
I think we all have a responsibility to not offend others and as such we should moderate the way we say things.
After all, adding a swear word does not add anything to a question or an answer.

The bottom line is the word is not a curse word but mostly used as a slur when referring to someone disliked or despised. Like "The dumb bastard stole my iPod"
Besides you can get a violation by answering a question with a question. It's really weird when you think about it.

I saw that earlier on a question, seems that yahoo answers has some weird rules.
I think that the internet is littlered with porn and bad language so blocking the odd word on here is a waste of time.
Most 10yr olds will tell you to f*ck off these days.

You are heading for either a slapped leg, or maybe you'll be sent to bed early. You know that mummy YA takes a dim view of free expression.
