It must be bad if we are taking ideas from the French, but you are right, it is a good idea, last time I looked we lived in England which is a Christian country but recently it feels like we have to bow and scrape to everybody else in case we upset them.

I think the law you suggest makes sense for the purpose of security. I believe that Muslim women should be allowed to wear what they choose in day to day life but this should not be allowed to over rule school uniforms for example, I believe part of education's value is living by the rules set for you. Currently we live in a state were Muslims are exempt from wearing uniforms of profession or status, this causes psychological segregation and a mass scale. If a uniform is required to be worn in a school by ALL students apart from Muslims, there is an element of fundamental racism apparent, by changing the rules to "accept" them, they are sending a message that people will be treated differently based upon religious values. One person attempting answer your question mentioned how Muslims have "come halfway" by drinking and sleeping about, drinking and sleeping about are not promoted by Christian values as they implied. As far as i know Drinking of alcohol is forbidden amongst practising Muslims, the earlier statement implied it is ok for people to forget their own values when is suits them and then claim right to act differently to others based on religious grounds.

So implementing that law may not be appropriate, but were safety and security are involved people should dress accordingly or not be present

France officially admitted to taday that they are having a civil war between the muslims and the police. More than fifteen officers every day are attacked and injured by violent muslims gangs. They better start initiating some really strong laws if they are going to solve this problem

You are so right - in fact we should adopt common sense from china and force everyone to wear navy blue pyjamas!

On the other hand - I wear what I want to wear, and I don't have a problem with other people wearing what they want to wear!!

What harm does someone wearing a nikhab, chador or burkha do to you??

I think you're just prejudiced and thinking up silly reasons to make life more difficult for other people!

i agree! I mean who would go into a bank in a crash helmet, that is not allowed. I watched a programme ages ago about a muslim woman who was in a car accident and got bad face and neck wounds. She ended up disfigured cause the hospital were not allowed to take her viel off. How nuts is that! Me personally i would'nt talk to someone who had there face all covered up, how could you possibly know what they are thinking underneath. And how could you trust someone without seeing there face!

I heard someone on the radio saying they were invented in the middle east to protect from sand storms, Erm we don't get many sand storms here in England, so why wear them.. It is to segregate themselves!

here here libby!!!

everyone should wear what they want, but the burkha is an oppresive peice of clothing in which women have been either forced or indoctrinated into wearing it as part of a male dominated religion in male dominated regimes where women are treated lower than men.
Show your faces you are british and free, we dont dislike women we want women as equals!!
Did the slaves wear their shackles once they were freed?

That would be a very fascistic law. Having a government decree what clothes people can and can't wear is one step towards communism. Is that what you want?

The total Muslim population in the UK is less than 3%. Surely someone with your predjudices can find a bigger target to shoot at?
