I'm 48 and have been taking propecia for about 8 years. It has totally stopped all my hair loss. I am very pleased with its effectiveness. I take one pill a day every morning and don't even think about hair loss anymore. No way am I gonna rub Minoxidil on my head every day.

The only problem is the hole in my pocket book. Costs about 60 bucks a month FOREVER. That is if I want to keep my hair forever. My pharmacist told me that some studies indicate taking propecia my decrease the risk of prostate cancer. Well there ya go. That makes it even more worth the 60 bucks a month.

Castration will definitely work, but admittedly that is a bit drastic. There are some drugs like Rogaine, and Propecia that might help. Talk with a dermatologist. Don't bother with non-prescription treatments and "cures"...they don't work.

While genetics plays a role, there are other factors, including: hormonal imbalances, an underactive thyroid gland, nutrient deficiencies and insufficient scalp circulation.

Dont waste ur money on the hair. It is no use to except to think u look better with it. But as u grow older u dont need them. If there is rapid fall there must be something wrong with ur diet.

There isn't any treatment because it is an inherited trait.
