It's still painful. You can take regular sized hand luggage now, but still no liquids of any sort. This means no make-up, toothpaste, etc. So for sure you will have to check a bag into the hold.
The funny thing is you check your bag flying out from London, and then (as I saw yesterday), you can take the very same bag onboard the flight when you fly back to the UK. This I find very hard to understand

yes hand luggage is fine just has to be certain size cnt rememeber exactly no knifes, weapons as normal. no fluid of any kind except baby milk that has to be tested first. no cosmetics or aerosols. but once you get through security you can buy what you like and take it on. if you have any doubts whether you can or can't take something speak to your travel agent

You're not allowed to take anything liquid through customs but you can buy drinks etc in the airport once you're through. Nothing sharp as always. Nothing like gel or toothpaste or aerosols either. Normal stuff like your purse, books, mags etc are fine. I wouldn't take any lippy or perfume though.

you can take most things as the restrictions has eased, Certain liquids will be checked though so you can take small hand luggage and musical instruments
