Ok...so I'm a lv.16 bulbasaur with torchic for a partner. I'm trying to get to Zapdos in thunder cave and rescue shiftry. Any suggestions on how 2 get there and how to defeat him(my moves are: leech seed,vine whip,tackle,sleep powder)? Plus... will I dream anything after that? What will happen after I rescue shiftry(rayquaza and the comet)?

you want suggestions for getting somewhere, but you didn't list where you want to go. beating zapdos is easy, but he's level 25, so just make sure you're around his level. do side missions and what-not, to get your level up to par.
it's an easy level, just don't use your moves too much - because you don't need to. leech seed and sleep powder are not moves you use against things that are easy fights, that's just a waste of PP
you will dream things after that, but you mention rayquaza and the comet. that has nothing to do with anything right now, and is VERY far away, so don't worry about that yet.
