MOKSH is the salvation or Mukti of the soul. There are many ways a person can attain Moksh-like the various paths of Dhyana, Karma, Gyan etc. Whatever be the path chosen, the final goal is the salvation of the soul from the miseries of human life of present and past (if one believes in reincarnation and Karma theories). The final moksh is a relaxed blissful state of mind when alive and a peaceful exit from the human life.

Moksh literally means good riddance in Sanskrit.

The Hindu philosophy believes that a soul which is a part of supreme God, keeps acquiring different bodies and leading the relevant lives. This process of living one life after another is full of unhappiness not only because of the miseries and compulsions but also for being away from the supreme God.

Moksh is the stage when the soul reaches the state of sublime enlightenment so that it can get rid of the compulsion of birth cycle and assimilate into the supreme God to attain eternal happiness.

There are 4 ways of achieving peace. Dharma, Artha, Kama and last is Moksha. Dharma is performing good things in the life without hurting anyone. Artha means earning money through proper source, Kama means having good family life with concented sex with your own wife, and last is Moksha. This concept is bit difficult to understand. I am expressing my perception about moksha as: Human-being is very materialistic and feels joy with all the materialistic world. After injury, one suferrs from pain. This pain is because you have a physical body. If the body is not existing, there will be no pain. Similarly, while someone hurts you emotionally, it causes emotional break-down. If there is no mind, you can not experience the emotional shock. If there is lack of un-happiness, it means that you are happy. Man is so fond of materialistic world that it is almost impossible for him to make himself away from all these glamor. Un-knowingly all of us are doing some or the other sin in the life. Therefore creator of the world again puts us in this materialistic world by way of re-birth and gives you a chance to improve and then achieve moksha. It is the probably the most difficult task. You cry because you have eyes, You get arthritis because you have the joints, you get diabetes because you have the pancreas, you get cancer because you have the organs within the body. If you do not have any of these things, means you do not have any chance of getting any disease. See the word: Dis-ease; it contradicts the ease/ comfort. It is therefore the person or the soul which is without body has no chance of getting any dis-ease and hence he is at "ease". That level is probably "Moksha".

Hey Prakhar Yadav,

The driving force, that kept you going, will continue until the ultimate "supreme", the "spiritual realization" - the state of "Moksh", where experience itself reaches infinity. Your hunber and confidence can only lead to your goals.

Moksha (Sanskrit: liberation) or Mukti (Sanskrit: release) refers, in general, to liberation from the cycle of death and rebirth. In higher Hindu philosophy, it is seen as a transcendence of phenomenal being, of any sense of consciousness of time, space, and causation (karma). It is not seen as a soteriological goal in the same sense as in, say, a Christian context, but signifies dissolution of the sense of self, or ego, and the overall breakdown of nama-roopa (name-form).
