No, you won't lose your songs if the battery dies and you need to replace it.

Well, I'm not quite sure but, you could somehow remove the harddrive in it (if you're using a harddrive based mp3, e.g. Zen Vision:M)...or you could leave the battery in it and plug the USB into your comp and save the songs...hmmm none of that made sense. I'd say no, you won't lose your songs. But wouldn't you already have the songs on your computer? The songs will still be in the mp3s memory except the mp3 doesn't work.

No. The songs are stored in Flash memory or in the hard drive, they're fine. Just replace the batteries and you're good.

nope, whatever mp3 player you have, the songs will stay on there after you put them on no matter the battery life.

No - they save the settings in the same way they save the MP3s.

No the flash card or the HD will hold music just like your computer holds things with out power
