I'm not a drummer but i found out how to do it.
Hold the stick between your fore finger and your middle finger and move those two fingers forwards and backwards (In opposite directions).
Practice it, after a while it should come easily!!!

I can do it but it took some practice. I love doing that with my drumsticks.

It's quite simple actually. You just have to pinch the stick about 7/8 of the way down between your thumb and your big finger and the flick the stick with your pointer.

I've been playing drums since I was 11, though I don't do it much these days thanks to my beautiful arthritis.

My son is a drummer and he does it to me just to
show off!...lol He's tried to show me over and over, but I can't get it right. He does it through his fingers and he can do it over the back of his hands, too. It's cool.

yeah, how do they do it?? i've always wanted to but i'd probably drop them. my sis wont let me near her sticks so i cant even try...
