Most common metals have a distinctive smell - brass, copper, and silver are faint but distinct and recognisable. Our noses are amazing at detecting the tiny quantities of vaporised oxide, carbonate, sulphide or whatever compounds that they form with air. However, gold is so non-reactive that there is probably too little of this for our noses to detect. Maybe a whole roomful of it, now . . .

For gold to have a (detectable?) odor, gold atoms would have to reach the olfactory equipment in a human's nostrils and react chemically to produce a scent signal. A lump of gold is stable and should not give off fumes unless perhaps heated to the melting point. Gold reacts poorly to most chemicals and likely would not produce a scent signal in the nose even if gold atoms were present. That said, some people can "smell gold" in any financial enterprise, especially scams.

with fair confidence no, it does not, odors are picked up by the human nose from the air, so for a compound to be smelled it must release chemicals into the air.
gold, does not react with other elements (it is in jewelery and electronics blended with copper) thus as gold is a metal with a boiling point of 2856 degrees C no gold atoms are floating around at standard room temperature, thus no gold atoms can enter our nose and give a response to the brain signaling aroma
Hope this helps

No. But Hg (mercury), that is usually associated to gold, does. This property is used by some companies for mineral exploration.
