A hangover (veisalgia) is the sum of unpleasant physical effects following heavy consumption of alcohol. The most common reported characteristics of a hangover are feelings of extreme thirst, lethargy, nausea, sensitivity to sunlight and noise, and headache. Hypoglycemia, dehydration, and vitamin B12 deficiency are all theorized causes of hangover symptoms. Hangover symptoms may be felt for a variable period of time after alcohol consumption, and may persist for a short period of time (12 to 36 hours), or even longer (48 to 72 hours after the last alcoholic drink is consumed
Some of the cures for this are -
Rehydration: "Effective interventions include rehydration, prostaglandin inhibitors". Drinking lot of Plain water as much as you can will bring down the hangover condition, as it will act as a detoxifying agent.
Vitamin B6 (pyritinol): Some studies have found that Vitamin B6 reduces hangovers
Rosiglitazone: "Rosiglitazone alleviated the symptoms of ethanol-induced hangover by inducing ALD2 expression.
Opuntia ficus indica: A 2004 clinical study suggests that taking an extract of a prickly pear cactus fruit (Opuntia ficus indica) five hours before drinking had a statistically significant effect on three hangover symptoms.
Chlormethiazole: "Chlormethiazole was found to lower blood pressure and adrenaline output and, furthermore, to relieve unpleasant physical symptoms, but did not affect fatigue and drowsiness. The cognitive test results were only slightly influenced by this agent, while psychomotor performance was significantly impaired.
Best thing would be to consume alchohalic drinks within limit viz. about 2 to 3 drinks or 180 ml.only
You should enjoy the drink - but the Drink should not enjoy you.

A pot of tea and a bowl of porridge, it really does work and is better than putting grease into ur system
Oh I know another foolproof way, drink a glass of water for every drink u have, (u have to do it whilst ur drinking) dehydration is the major cause, so just keep urself hydrated whilst on the bender

Squeeze half a lime in to a glass.. add luke-warm water to it. Add a spoon full of salt to it. Glug it down.. wont taste too good.. will want to make you throw up.. throw up if you have to. An hour later you will feel great. And oh, eat something. Nothing like an empty stomach to worsen a hangover.

Always keep a box of 'Resolve' in the cupboard. You can get it from any chemist and supermarkets. It works a treat. Also, drink lots of water and orange juice.
Stay off the drink for about 3 days if possible.

As previously mentioned, drink plenty of water before you go to bed and when you wake in the morning. Alcohol dehydrates the body and brain, to stop the headache you need to rehydrate the brain. You could also drink a glass of water in between the glasses of alcohol.

A hangover is the body's reaction to the dehydration that occurs when you drink to much alcohol. best corse of action is to re-hydrate your body.
i reccommend a couple of pain killers and a lot of water, better still get yourself some sweet sport rehydration drinks (like lucozade sport) that dont contain caffeine. caffeine is a diarhetic and will dehydrate you further. be careful what painkillers you take. A lot of the good ones contain caffeine to make them 'non drowsy'.
