This is such a complex question, depending on what specifically you're looking at doing, that there's no way to conclusively answer it without more details. In general, linux is UNIX-based, so it applies UNIX philosophies of always using file streams, vs. windows use of DLL's and a registry to make a massive monolith-style OS. If a component of Linux dies, this means it *should* be easier to get going again, vs. windows, where if a component dies, in theory it should be more likely to kill the whole OS.

open office. it includes writer which is a word processor, calc-a caculator, impress-a presentation, base- a database tool. draw- a drawing tool.
