Gerrard or Lampard?

Has the world cup finally put this argument to bed? Is Gerrard the better player?

Both are world class players and as English fans we have to appreciate the fact we are lucky to have them both. Either midfielder would fit into any of the top world class teams. You only have to look in recent years with Lampard being linked with Milan and Barca, and Stevie G with Man U, Chelsea and Real Madrid. I would say Gerrard offers you more across the middle of the park, but Lampard on his day is more potent in front of goal. So i will say both

Gerrard could be good on any team. If he lets say played for West Ham, Real Madrid, or whomever he would make they much better and whatever role he played fit right in.

Lampard is excellent as well but I don't think he would be nearly as productive without Makelele and the Chelsea formation. During the world cup when he had to play more centrally, he looked out of place at times.

Overall they both contribute a lot, but Gerrard is the overall best I think.

Definiteley Gerrard!! Gerrard can defend Lampard can't!! They both can attack, but example in the world cup, Lampar played horrible! In any attribute Gerrard is better!! Not because i'm a Liverpool fan, but I feel Gerrard is one of the best players the world has ever seen!!

Both are very good, but I feel Gerrard is more consistent and more of a complete player and a better leader. Lampard has the ability to attack and score goals, but he can be very inconsistent at times. Gerrard has the ability to lead his teams and create chances. Both are excellent, but I feel Gerrard is more complete.

If Gerrard were a Blue, Chelsea could be better; if Lampard went Red, Liverpool would be about the same... I feel Stevie has the edge over Frank in all-round performance... but what do i know

at first i was used to diffrentiate between them..but now...i think they are both the same..every one of them is perfect..they both have a similar role for England and they are both doing a perfect job...and i dont like to diffrentiate between them because they are both ranked the same according to me
thats my opinion...

On the otherhand..if you want a fairly comparison...Steven gerrard is better...One of Them has to leave his role and do more of a defensive role..because England needs more defensive and this person is usually Gerrard...and this is the reason which makes him a better player but That doesnt mean that Frank lampard is a bad player.No not at all..Frank lampard is a very good player..But i noticed something...And this is also a reason which makes Gerrard a little better,,,You can see frank lampard doing a great job for chelsea..but a little foR England..Same as Gerrard,,,He does a lot for liverpool..If we move to England..Steven Gerrard does more things for England than Lampard..and it is usually the big tournaments which shows the better player...
but as i said above...For me..They are both Equally the same

Steven Gerrard, of course. after all, he scored two goals during the 2006 FIFA World Cup while Frank Lampard didn't score!!

Gerrard is slightly better than Lampard.

Gerrrad has proved himself as number midfielder/playmaker over the years. Lampard still has to do a lot to do. Plus, Gerrad doesn't have so many stars as Lampard has. Many times Gerrad has been single most important factor in Liverpool's wins.
