its plays ps2 games and dvds but it will not play ps1 games

your ps2 is modded, it has a mod chip which can play fake burnt/cheap cds but it cant play ps1 games, i have the same thing here, where did u buy it from? which country? if it was originally like that then your ps2 is working well but if it used to play ps1 games and now it cant then you better send it to the store

Take it to the store to get it fixed. Don't try to do it yourself or it might end up not playing ps2 games either.

well, some of the newer ps2's dont play the old ps1 games, concat sony
