exercise is good for you during pregnancy and will help with the delivery. There are specialized classes for pregnant women. I went to a prenatal aqua fit during my first pregnancy.

It is both safe and really good for you. General advise is that you should continue to exercises at a level that you are used to, don't take on new and strenuous exercise regimes and make sure you drink lots of water and rest regularly. The best forms of gentle exercises are swimming, yoga, walking and gentle gym sessions. People like Paula Radcliff still do lots of running whilst pregnant because that is what is normal for her, I have also got a friend who rode her horse up to 36 weeks, but I wouldn't suggest these type of activities if you do not regularly do them...............Just take it easy and use common sense but do do exercise you will need to be fit to have an active labour and less complicated delivery. Loads of Luck XXX

Hi I would continue to exercise as long as you feel comfortable. Don't do any weight training, horse riding or skiing, they are too dangerous- got a factsheet from my midwife which was really good. I enjoyed swimming & the treadmill until about 3 weeks before my son was born, but I hated the exercise bike because I had piles!! take care and good luck with your baby, lovely! :)

It's totally safe. My doc told me that walking & swimming are best, but I've read that tennis is ok too. It can depend on how active you were before you got pregnant though & also on what you're body can handle. Some women can exercise up until they go into labor.

Not only is it safe but it is good for you. However, dont start doing anything new. Keep to your usual routine. Swimming is the best thing you can do. In later pregnancy it takes the weight off your joints, it makes them supple and it gives you loads of stamina for the mamoth job ahead!!! You can swim right up until you go into labour. however, if your waters break dont swim as you are vunerable to infection.

Yes gentle exercise is good in pregnancy, but why don’t you just sit in front of the television with a cup of tea and a nice big bar of chocolate instead ok so its not as healthy but I always felt better doing that than the dreaded E word!!

If you do gentle exercise all through your pregnancy they reckon it will make your labour easier. Good luck
