You can not base the credentials of a team on one game. Its like asking "Are middlesborough better than chelsea?". Although Everton are continuing to improve and players like Johnson and Cahill would be an asset to any club I feel they are still behind the big 4. Lets not forget Liverpool had more possession and more shots than Everton but at the time the strikers had not found there scoring boots! Lets wait until the end of the season and take a true reflection then!

Every team is going to go through a fall out every once and awhile. It happens. Everyone has bad days, some have good days. You can't base a comparison like that just on one game. I remember last year, Newcastle Utd beat Chelsea, if I'm not mistaken. But, we're not going to say that Newcastle is better just because they won that game. It is the same with Liverpool. Liverpool is having a slump this season, but overall, Liverpool has been a lot more successful than Everton. Maybe at this point in time we could say that Everton is performing better, but Liverpool is in fact the better of the two.

The best side on Merseyside is without doubt Quarry Bank Old Boy's 4th XI. However, of the two lesser sides mentioned in the above question, bearing in mind you're only as good as your last game (QBOB's 4th XI beat Oaks Institute 2-1 btw) & its a game of two halves, football is probably the winner. In conclusion, if we're talking Suduko, Everton may just have the edge. Liverpool would probably win at Netball cos they've got Crouchie. But when it comes to footie I've no idea.....Go Tranmere!

Liverpool are down on their luck this time, and thats because Reina was in a poor shape. They're bounce back soon, don't worry, Liverpool are better. Remember that they won the Champions league just like 1 or 2 seasons ago after being 3-0 down in the first half.

What has Everton won in the last 3 years to justify them as better? Ok, let's be fair make that 5 years, ok, ok, make that 10 years?
They are good currently, have an ok first 11, a good manager, but can it last? And for how long?

As a liverpudlian.... i can not say that Everton are better. on the last derby the luck of the Irish was with them, and I give them that... Cahill's an amazing player. but a bit of a sulk and a dirty plaer as well.... Liverpool are definitely an unluck team with star potential...

Everton are morally superior, more handsome, better people and all round good guys. Not only are Everton better than Liverpool but also the greatest team in all the world. And - "we don't care what the red side say"
This is the truth.
End.

I think you only have to look at the two sides' track records over the last, say 20 years, to see who is the team with the most trophies and the most success! And, oh look, it's the red ones!
