How many rabbits can be produced from one pair and their offspring in one season (SEE DETAILS)?

If the first pair begin breeding in march and are capeable of a litter averaging 5, of which two are female,every month through to the end of september and each successive female of each litter reaches maturity and begins breeding at 4 months of age what will be the total number of offspring in one season, allowing for a 50% mortality rate on each litter. Only three days after producing a litter a rabbit can be pregnant again.

A season is from march to september. Seven Months.

Fractionally less females than males are present in a litter so two females out of the litter of five is a fair calculation.

This problem gives the Fabionci numbers where all the numbers plus previous number gives the third number and so on ie; 1,2,3,5,8, 13 etc;and as you progress for number of seasons and number of rabits you multiply divided by 2 gives the number of offsprings.

how long do is a season? 1 month, three months, six months?
you cant use 2.5 rabbits to breed so if I have an uneven number of offspring do I ignore the fraction when I work out the surviving litter or do I round it from 2.5 to 3?

But if I take a season to be six months and a mortality rate 3 out of every five your answer would be roundabout 1200 ( I got 1090, but I'm not entirely sure if I'm right)

The parents give birth to 5x7 = 35 offsrings, their March offsprings have evarage 1 female survived which gives 5 offsrings in July, 5 in August, and 5 in September, total 15, thier April offsprings of 1 survived femail give birth to 10 offsprings, and their May offsprings of 1 everage survived femail gives birth to 5 offsprings. Total number of offsprings survived is 50%(35) + 50%(15) + 50%(10) + 50%(5) = 32.5 (average).
