Always go suited. This is their first sight of you and you have to show them you are serious and also work minded. If you turn up in jeans and t-shirt, they think you are lazy and that is how they will see you working for them. Go in suit and then you can ask what you are supposed to wear onceyou get there. Since your going to Assistant Manager, go in a suit since you are going for a professional position.

Well done with the job. I think, wear the suit, you will sign the contract in the HR department presumably. Create a good impression...Harrods is an up market establishment. Good luck with the job, sounds great.

If I was you I would dress quite smart but not OTT as, like you said, it is just to sign your contract. As long as you don't go in jeans and a baggy t-shirt, I think you will be ok. Congratulations on your new job by the way! x

It shouldn't matter but it does. Go with a suit. Surely it's better to go with what you know would be appropriate rather than take a chance on something that might not.

wear the suit because you never know who else may be there who wants to meet you, could be someone more senior than your boss. also it means if in the future they are critical over people dress code they can never say to you that you never made an effort..
