The Four Seasons did it as a B side of a 45.
Later The Tremoloes did a cover that had great success
I actually think it's been done as a cover by a lot of people. I remember the Boxtops more for doing a version of "The Letter". I didn't remember them doing a version of Silence is Golden. I never heard The Tremoloes sing the song either. I copied the lyrics from a URL. I copied the lyrics as posted including what seems to be misspellings. Url is included on the Tremeloes
