You question has given me reason to state how thankful I am to be living in a democracy. I've never lived under other forms of government. From what I've seen on the news when one man has total control over the peoples of his country and the military gets all the attention and moneys. Then the result is the people suffer. A government needs to be set up so the citizens have a choice to vote for the best man to lead the country in a direction that benefits all of us.and..with trustworthy people under him to carry out his directives, it works down to the states and cities electing leaders who care for the public's needs. So far the USA has a history of our own wars at home ...and the struggles to improve as time has passed. Some of our presidents have made errors but they are human and it's going to happen. All in all democracy gives people freedoms of choice for their religion and right to speak their minds without worry of being jailed for saying something about the ruling government leaders....so for me I'm STAYING in the great USA....

All forms of government have drawbacks. Democracy has less drawbacks than other forms of government that have been tried.

I actually do not agree with Mr. Churchill. In the US we have a representative republic, with a constitution and written laws, which work better than a democracy.

Democracy means the people rule by majority. In actuality, it would be chaos. In a pure democracy, a majority of the people might decide that drivers must use the left side of the road. One day later, the majority decides it is better to drive on the right side of the road.

because of the fact in a democracy, all of us a minimum of has a voice. it may finally end up no longer mattering, because of the fact no person is of a similar opinion with you, yet you a minimum of have a hazard of persuading people on your perspectives. below a democracy, you won't be able to ***** you weren't given a voice. Like most of the persons in this board, you may basically ***** that your arguments are not listened to by using the sane.

basically a joke about how all the gov't ideals before it were oppressive to its people and a gov't by the people would be a tragedy but at least its something the people could live with because its their own
i agree with it , i heard it a long time ago, we decide whats next we really do, not today not immediatly, but eventually through diplomacy policies are changed, adopted, overthrown, adapted, modified, and hopefully making a better life for the next generation

this means that democracy is not perfect but it is better than most other governments discovered or made. i agree wih this because democracy gives everybody a part in choosing who you want your leader to be. but it sucks when it does not go your way.

That means it has been the best form so far, right? That's what I am getting out of it.

I agree, democracy isn't perfect, but no other form of government ever tried has been better.
If there is one better, please point it out.
