1001 Carpet cleaner is excellent, or Vanish do a good carpet mousse, they are specifically designed for carpets so they won't do any harm.

stain devil for unknown stains is pretty effective but on the other hand try a good hot iorn on top of some brown paper it will melt the polish wax and allow regular cleaning to remove the residue. if that dosent work get a spare bit of carpet i hope you kept get a small disc cutter cut the damaged piece out and replace with a disc of the same size glued in to place so it does not get removed again when hoovering . and refrain from using black boot polish over a cream carpet in future .

I agree with the baby wipes answer! My boyfriend got boot polish on the carpet in a really nice B&B we were staying in - I could have killed him! Luckily the baby wipe thing worked and got the stain out - granted it was a light pink carpet not a beige one
Hey - just as well I forgave the boyf huh, bet the baby wipes wouldn't have done the trick on that much blood eh!

Biological washing powder. Mix some up in hot water and rub into carpet, when stain has gone blot dry with an old towel to avoid a watermark. I saw on how clean is your house, so it must work!

Oh dear, your in trouble!! Has no-one ever told you to polish boots on a bit of newspaper?
Have you tried stain devils? They do individual small ones that work on specific stains.
I wish you all the luck in the world for this one.

attempt a bar of Vanish cleansing soap. that's amazingly strong at breaking down grease and as polish is oil depending it would want to easily artwork? Even Fairy Liquid might want to spoil it down yet do not scrub at it too a lot in case you in hardship-free words spread it and make it worse. strong success!!
