Wolfmother is an Australian band from Erskineville, Sydney whose music is inspired by rock acts such as Jimi Hendrix, Pink Floyd, Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin and Deep Purple.
This rock group has the following members:
***Andrew Stockdale, born onJuly 20, 1976 is the lead singer and guitarist who mainly uses a Gibson SG standard with a Bigsby.He was nominated as Best Male Performer in 2006 Jack Awards.
***Chris Ross is the bassist/keyboardist who uses a Rickenbacker 4001 bass and a 70s Korg CS3 organ keyboard. He was formerly a digital designer until he and his bandmates hit it big on the Australian tour scene.He is known for his trademark rock and roll stage antics.He won the Best Bass Guitarist award in the 2006 Jack Awards.
***Myles Heskett is the drummer , born on January 19,1977 who was formerly a graphic artist, and designed the cover art for the band's first EP. He was nominated as the Best Drummer in 2006 Jack Awards.
The success of their first album "Wolfmother EP" released in 2004 marked the beginning of their appearance at several high profile music events. Such album entered the Australian Charts at #3 and which they won the Triple J for the best Australian album of the year. The group's remarkable success prompted the Rolling Stone magazine to enlist them as one of ther "Top 10 Bands to Watch 2006. It was indeed true as their singles achieved good standing in the charts and their group had received high recognition proven by various nominations in this year's MTV Australian Video Music Awards and Jack Awards where Chris Ross won the Best Bass Guitarist award. This group has been united with a passsion for creative expression.

The first single to be released was "Mind's Eye/Woman" (a double A-side), making its debut on the Australian music charts at #29. The album itself entered the Australian Charts at #3 and has been a regular feature of the Top 20 ever since, having gone twice platinum. Wolfmother won the 2005 J Award from the Australian youth radio network Triple J for the best Australian album of the year, and finished the year with Falls Festival appearances. Rolling Stone magazine listed Wolfmother as one of their "Top 10 Bands to Watch 2006."
