I think the key is to treat the nature, our Mother Earth, as if she is our best friend and teacher. If we regard her as someone we really love and care about, we will not want her harmed. It is important because if you don't, you will soon lose interest and patience in protecting the environment.

Have a walk in the wilderness and try to pay attention to everything in the nature. Try to know how the indigenous people treat the nature, because you will see (and perhaps admire) the way they live without hurting the environment too much.

Learn to love and respect our Mother Nature, and you will keep your passion of protecting the environment.

Don't litter. Clean up litter. Plant small trees and flowers in your yard, make a water source for birds and a shelter. If you live in an apartment you don't have to worry about that last part. But just not littering helps the environment.

Don' litter, re-cycle, turn down your thermostat in the winter to use less fuel, drive a fuel efficient car and drive so as to use less fuel, vote for environmentally concerned candidates, if you can afford to make donations to environmental groups, express your concerns to your congressmen---if we all did these simple things we could make a difference.
