I need a dvd,but price is an issue.Any advise on a cheaper dvd recorder please?

I tried to record from sky+ to a video but the playback was dreadful.

Target has one for $100.00 (but I got mine for $68 on sale there).
It is a Truetech brand. I like it and it makes good quality dvd's.
Be advised though, the dvd's you make will only be playable on devices with progressive scan capability.
