when a man and woman go down the stairs, who should walk in front?

Traditionally the male lets the female first through doors and things. With stairs it depends on the hieght of them, if there is only a few stairs the male can walk down and offer his arm to the female or let her go first with him alongside offering to support her with his arm.

I would say the man. One doesn't know what is at the bottom of the stairs - his her protection.
If She falls or trips, she can fall on him.

A woman if she is cute and you want to check her out. If it's family or friend, you let them down first. In other situations, who cares.
